the

the Husband of one of my colleagues with whom I worked in a psychiatric hospital, was a specialist, we have contracted interest in the science. Gradually we began to associate knowledge about human and social aspects of his life accumulated in Ethnography, with the realities that we studied, being psychologists.

it Turned out that the archaic view of the world as well as ancient rituals and ways of life still manifest themselves in modern life. That Yung described as "archetypes", is only a special case of manifestation of the first "impetigo" from the clash with the world, which are preserved in the memory of mankind since ancient times.

One of those ancient rites, or rituals that have attracted our attention due to the fact that the memories of them in one form or another, manifest in the psyche of modern humans, was a rite of passage.

Vestiges of this rite, we still can observe in various communities. For example, the rite of initiation, or initiation into a certain social status, is still common in the Russian army. It is associated with the phenomenon of hazing, and manifests in the ritual transfer of young soldiers (spirits) in the old-timers. Initiation rituals are found in some universities. They dedicate the newly admitted students to the students.

In ancient times the rite of initiation performed the function of transferring youths to the status of the adult members of the tribe. In order to become for adults man, the young man had to die in the status of the child, and then revived in a very different status - adult: warrior, hunter, men.

to the fact "symbolic of dying" as a child does not remain a mere formality, the neophytes was carried out through the ordeals. They rendered psychological and physical influence, so they really thought that death is very close, and they had the illusion of dying.

After a symbolic death was time of the new birth, which also was accompanied by special tests, and sometimes even torture. And in the end, "newborn", has passed through all the agony of dying and rebirth, was a full-fledged member of the tribe.

the initiation usually had for a period of 15-16 years. To our surprise, we found that a significant proportion of young men entering the clinic for examination, there is little understandable fear of death and acute reluctance to become for adults, to leave childhood.

After that, we began to examine and test and other boys of the same age. It turned out that the fear of death in one form or another manifested in their tests (we used drawing tests, D-D-H icon and Rorschach test).

We call this syndrome the "abandonment of the incarnation".
If you put aside the different nuances and subtleties, we can say that in the age of the crisis of 15-16 years in the psyche of young people starting to enter the "archaic fears." Within the concept of Jung's collective unconscious you could call these fears "archetypes".

it Turns out that the justifiable fear of a rite of initiation that was experienced young men in ancient times, somehow seeping out of the historical memory in the souls of modern boys and brings some of them to a condition of acute neurosis.

the most introverted and prone to contemplation of young men who have this "neurosis" manifested itself in a strong enough form in the tests and the descriptions were images and feelings, very similar to what you can experience our ancestors, when they passed through the rite of initiation. In a panic against the looming threat they frantically cling to their childhood, they felt a surge of infantilism and hatred of all things "adult." And, as already mentioned, they were pursued by an inexplicable fear of death.

Psyche on an unconscious level struggled with penetrating the consciousness of the archetype. And the call for teachers and parents: "it is time to say goodbye to childhood and to become finally an adult", they drove these "neophytes" in a state of near neurosis.

As already mentioned, we called this syndrome "a rejection of the incarnation".
it was Assumed that teenagers are just afraid of change of their social status, as this event is associated with death, as if they refuse to be embodied in the manner of adults.
