We often in the pursuit of something higher, larger, grander, more substantial and significant (in our opinion). Thus, we stop to enjoy the little things. And our life is a collection of little things (and not only).

Stop and compare yourself to what you were a month, six months, a year ago. Even if you are in a difficult period, pay attention to how you overcome it. This is the reason for getting satisfaction.

And finally: every emotion, feeling, as it is important to give your time. My point is not about shifting yourself into a positive, and that we should not forget about the satisfaction with their lives and themselves, and learn to feel it in different situations.
